Maxtor Repair
(Within Australia)Maxtor drives can fail in many ways. Some of the most common are outlined below. Re-Source Hardware are able to temporarily repair most faulty drives and copy data to a stable medium.
Some of the slimline drives detect in BIOS as their drive name, such as Maxtor Athena, Maxtor Nike, Maxtor N40P, Maxtor Ares64, Maxtor Romulus, Maxtor Calypso, Maxtor Proxima, Maxtor Gala, Maxtor Rigel, Vulcan and others.
Once this happens, the computer will stall or report a primary or secondary hard drive failure.
Alternately, they may also detect as WAH21PBZ, WAK21R9Z, EAH41MFZ or WAHxxxxZ (for the Athena drives), or NAR6253Z, NAR6159Z, or NARxxxxZ(for the N40P drives). Other combinations are possible with the first three letters of the code on the label and ending with the letter 'Z'
In most of these cases, the drives are able to be temporarily repaired to a point where the data can be copied to a stable medium.
